Our Seeds - 0 years to 3 years ( before preschool) - Sessions will resume in 2019
These learn to love reading parent and me sessions are divided into two parts.
As caregivers of infants and toddlers we know that their attention span is short and it is key to vary activities in order to keep this age group engaged.
The first 30 minutes of the session involves introductions, group readings, singing, dancing, story telling and a group toddler game.
In the second 30 minutes the children participate in free play with imaginative toys. At The Reading Garden we want to encourage creativity and imagination and as such the toys provided are not mechanical and range from simple handmade drums and shakers to tea sets and pots and pans.
During free play caregivers are encouraged to get to know one another and exchange experiences. These sessions are as much about the caregiver as they are about the children. As a SAHM I know the value of being able to interact with other adults in a similar situation. Even though it is not “alone time” or “me time” this still presents an opportunity to relax a little as the children will be in a safe and secure environment.
